Definition:

Clients did not feel obligated to use a contraceptive method after their abortion.

 

Purpose:

Quality abortion care requires a person-centered approach to the provision of contraception; contraception should be provided only when the client has given free and informed consent to receive it.

Justification for Inclusion:

Statistical association with client outcomes

 

Quality Threshold:

A point of service is considered as meeting this indicator’s quality threshold if 90% or more of clients reported not feeling obligated to use a contraceptive method after their abortion.
