Definition:

Client felt provider was supportive of their abortion decision and not coercive.

 

Purpose:

Quality abortion care requires a person-centered approach to services; support for decision without coercion suggests that care is provided with respect and autonomy.

Justification for Inclusion:

Statistical association with client outcomes

 

Quality Threshold:

A point of service is considered as meeting this indicator’s quality threshold if 90% of clients report that the provider was supportive of their abortion decision and not coercive.

 

Data Sources:

  • For health facilities: Health Facility Client Exit Interview questions HF133 and HF134
  • For pharmacies: Pharmacy Client Exit Interview questions PH128 and PH129
  • For hotlines: Hotline Client Exit Interview questions HL124 and HL125

 

Details:

For health facilities, pharmacies and hotlines, the proportion of clients who answered with the following response pattern:

  1. Response option 1 OR 2 to question HF133/PH128/HL124
  2. Response option 3 to question HF134/PH129/HL125
